A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores in your browser. Booking sites use them to hold your search; ad networks use them to follow you from site to site. North Mariner does neither.

When you click Understood on the notice, the site saves a single entry in your browser's local storage, under the key ew, so the notice does not return on every page.

It says nothing about you and is never sent to us.

No analytics. No booking-referral or affiliate tracking. No advertising or retargeting pixels. No embedded maps or videos that set third-party cookies. No externally hosted fonts.

Many articles link to rail operators, hotel guides and booking sites. Those sites may set their own cookies, including advertising cookies, and their policies apply once you arrive.

Clear the site data for north-mariner.com in your browser, or read in a private window. The notice will come back; nothing else changes.

If we add something that needs cookies, such as a saved-trips feature, it will be listed here with its purpose and lifetime before it goes live, and anything optional will ask first.

The setting we save lives in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. Local storage is not sent with requests to our server, so the flag never reaches us; it only tells your own browser not to show the notice again.
